Winning the
Florida Speedweeks championship has been the biggest thrill
in my racing career so far. It’s nothing short of a dream
come true and what we accomplished at New Smyrna Speedway is
still sinking in.
At the end
of the week, I might have been the one holding up the
trophy, but without the help and support of several people,
I know that I would have been at home in New Hampshire
watching Daytona on TV instead. I’d really like to thank
those people.
My family
has been behind me all of the way and without their support,
I wouldn’t be racing. I appreciate their sacrifices and
hard work. The same goes for my car owner, Jerry Morello.
He’s been coming to New Smyrna for years and winning a
championship down there means so much to me.
I’ve
got the hardest working crew out there and now they are
officially champions. Everything that we worked for almost
went up in smoke on Friday night after a wreck, but my team
didn’t give up and we came back to finish fifth. They are
amazing.
I want to
thank my sponsors – One Stop Toy Shop, Rockingham Boat,
Howard Construction and Summit Signs for their support in
just getting to Speedweeks.
It takes
horsepower to run well at New Smyrna. Joey Caraccia and
NuSkool engines built us a nice engine for this season and
we ran it down in Florida. I appreciate the job Joey did
with it every time that I put my foot down.
The
lessons that I’ve learned in two seasons in the True Value
Modified Racing Series sure came in handy in Florida. It’s
been a great place to race and I thank everyone associated
with the series for that. I was proud to represent the
series in Florida and look forward to some great races in
2006.
I also got
to race against some great competitors in Florida. Eric
Beers, Ted Christopher, Donny Lia, Rob Summers and the
Blewett Brothers are some of the best in the business and to
learn from them was priceless. I especially want to thank
Chuck Hossfeld and his team though. We raced hard and clean
for the championship and he showed me what a class act that
he is. I look forward to racing him again many times in the
future.
Most of
all, we couldn’t do this without the fans and I thank
everyone who came out to the track, followed the races
online or offered their congratulations when we came home.
I’m
looking forward to a fun and safe 2006 season and I’ll see
everyone at Monadnock on April 15th.

#70 One Stop Toy Shop/Rockingham Boat Modified
Race Results from New Smyrna Speedway:
Night 8: ANDY IS THE
CHAMPION! With 25 laps in the race we knew what needed to be
done. Andy was calm, cool and collected and drove smooth the
entire race putting the #70 in 5th place for the race and
winning the 2006 Modified Championship! Andy and the entire
Crew did an awesome job all week and we want to thank
everyone for your support and good luck wishes. This is a
great way to start off the 2006 racing season!!!
CONGRATULATIONS ANDY FOR
WINNING THE CHAMPIONSHIP!

Thank you Howie and Mary
Hodge for the great pictures!
Night 7: WOW! Andy did some
unbelievable driving tonight and the team did an awesome job
keeping the #70 in the race and on the lead lap. Andy was in
an early caution causing the right rear to go down and some
additional damage to the back end. The crew brought the car
behind the wall and started working, when the green flag
flew the pack came barreling into Turn 1 and half of the
field was tangled together and the yellow flag is out again
buying the #70 team some extra time to fix the car.
Andy was back on the track
when the green flag flew and starts in the back of the field
--- he begins moving forward and making a charge to the
front. Andy feels a tire going down and hangs on to the car
until the yellow is out again, the #70 comes down pit road
for a fresh tire and is out and back to work. At the end of
the race Andy brings the #70 home in 5th place and secures
the points lead for the championship. Tomorrow is the final
night of racing with a 25 lap feature. Stay tuned...
Night 6: Another excellent
night at the races! Andy went out for qualifying and put the
#70 in the 9th starting position. With a 25 lap race there
was no time to waste, Andy drove smart and once again
avoided wrecks in early cautions. Andy moved into seventh
position and continued to move through the field. With the
laps clicking off fast Andy held his ground to move into the
fourth place position. When the checkered flag flew the #70
finished in 4th.
With only two nights left of
racing Andy has proven to be a strong and aggressive driver.
He has been driving smart races and finishing consistently
to put the #70 modified 5 points away from Beers and
Hossfeld who are tied for first in the points standings.
Stay tuned for tomorrow's update as the Richie Evans
Memorial Classic 100 lap race is tonight.
Night 5: It was another night
of luck at the races! During qualifying Andy turned the 10th
fastest time. At the start of the race getting in one
complete lap was proving to be a challenge. At the restart
Andy was on the inside line when the green flag flew the #12
was slow to go and Andy was pounded from behind sending him
into the #12 and the front stretch grass, luckily Andy
saved the car before hitting the wall. At another early
restart Donny Lia climbed the wall coming out of turn four
causing a caution and a handful of cars to go spinning in
the front stretch. With barely 5 lap on the books, the
modifieds were going single file restart. Andy started in
the rear of the field but with patience and smart driving
began picking off cars in front of him and was on the move
towards the front. By the end of the night Andy finished in
6th place.
Night 4: Tonight was a night
of survival! With Andy qualifying 10th yesterday after an
excellent save on his second lap coming out of turn four,
10th spot turned out to be a blessing in disguise. At the
start of the race the track was cold and the drivers were
hot, without finishing the first lap the caution was out.
The restart came again and with no time at all the yellow
flag flew taking out the front of the pack. Andy spun in the
dirt in turn 1 but had no damage to the car; with a quick
stop down pit road to clean oil off the window Andy was
ready to. Back to work, Andy drove smart and started picking
off cars one by one. With 2 laps left the caution is out
again and Andy is in fifth spot; during the caution the #45
runs out of fuel and Andy moves into 4th place. The green is
in the air on a single file restart and the #70 finishes in
4th place. Another good night at the races puts Andy in
third place overall in points.
Night 3: The World Series of
Asphalt racing has officially been re-named the Wild Wild
West. Andy turned an excellent 17.421 in qualifying the 5th
fastest time. After the redraw Andy was lined up 3rd behind
Donny Lia and Chuck Hossfeld for the feature event. With the
drop of the green flag the excitement began. Andy held on to
the #70 with the beating and banging going on all around.
With a caution coming out for a spin in three and four the
pack restarted taking the green three wide, yet again giving
Andy a handful to hang on to. We survived the start and
finished the race in 5th place. Another exciting night for
the #70 modified.

Night 2: Rained out
......next race Monday night
Night 1: Andy Seuss qualifies
6th, with the top 8 redrawing Andy starts in 4th place
behind Chuck Hossfeld and pulls out into second place. By
the end of the race half the field was out due to a wreck in
the back stretch. Andy brings the #70 home clean with a 7th
place finish.
Special thanks goes out to
all the fans for voting .

Neither
Rain, Snow or Blown Engines
Keep Andy Seuss Down
18-Year-Old and His Teams
Work Hard for a Pair of Third-Place Finishes
HAMPSTEAD,
NH (
November 1,
2005)
– After one rain postponement, one snow
postponement and a pair of blown engines, you wouldn’t blame
Andy Seuss and his #70 One Stop Toy Shop / Rockingham Boat
True Value Modified Racing Series team if they wanted to
pack up and leave Octoberfest at Lee USA Speedway (NH)
early. But that’s not what the team is about. Their
dedication was rewarded when Seuss started last (because of
their last TVMRS win) in the final TVMRS race of 2005 and
came through the field to finish a strong third on Sunday.
It was a fitting end to a long week and a half of setback
after setback. The race was first scheduled for last
weekend, but got rained out. On Saturday, it was pushed
back another day because of a snowy mix of wintery weather.
That worked out good for the team because it gave them time
to chase down their motor demons." We found some things
wrong with our primary motor last week and put in our
back-up motor,” said Seuss. “Once we got to the track, we
found that it was starting to knock so we shut it down and
were done for the day. We blew a lifter and couldn’t find
all of the parts and we knew they were running around inside
the engine. We didn’t want to hurt it worse. We got home
and started tearing apart those engines and knew that we
weren’t going to have those fixed for the weekend." The #70
team then turned to team owner Jerry Morello, who also owns
Eddie MacDonald’s #77 NASCAR Busch North team, for some
assistance." We borrowed one of Jerry’s [Busch North]
motors. It was the one that they ran at Dover and they
thought it had a broken rocker. It turned out that the cam
came off timing and bent a lot of stuff. Then we were out
of motors. We rented one from Jack Bateman and met him on
Thursday to get it. We put it in on Friday and it worked
out good for us that Lee was rained out on Saturday. We got
an extra day to finish it. We put it in and it was a good
stout piece. It all worked out good." Early in the 100-lap
event, it looked like Seuss’ race would go just like his
week leading up to it. But as the laps clicked off, things
started going better and better for him." At the beginning
of the race, I was told that I was within a quarter of a
turn of going down a lap. I was trying to save my car, but
then I turned it on and went. I made up a half-track on the
leader and started coming through the pack. By the time
that the first caution came out, I was in seventh. We went
from 26th to seventh in 60 laps. We kept picking
away and found myself in third at the finish."
It
wasn’t Seuss’ only third place of the afternoon either. The
18-year-old driver also finished on the podium in the 350
SuperModifieds feature after driving the #10 of Mike Ordway,
Jr., who was tied up racing a NEMA Midget at Thompson
Speedway (CT).“That was a tough race,” said Seuss. “I got
held up bad by some erratic traffic. I couldn’t exactly
take matters into my own hands and those cars are very aero
sensitive. They get real tight when you are up behind
someone. Once I was by myself, I was 2/10ths
quicker than anyone else. I want to thank the Ordway family
for giving me the chance to run their car." Seuss and his
team planned on going to this coming weekend’s North vs.
South Shootout at Concord Motorsports Park (NC), but that
event is still a question mark until they figure out their
current engine situation." We're looking at going to the
Shootout if we have a motor to go down there with,” said
Seuss. “We’re looking into that. If we run the same motor,
we’ll be all right. We’ll do some weekly maintenance and
load the car back up. If not, we’ll do what we can. If it
takes a lot of work, it takes a lot of work. That’s not
anything that this team is afraid of." For

Andy was invited to speak at the
candle light vigil held at Macgregor park, Derry NH for the Community Alliance
for Teen Safety (C.A.T.S.). The theme of the evening was Before Your Time...A
Celebration of the Lives of Youth Who Have Died Before Their Time. Andy spoke
about safety in his race car and how it applies to everyday driving. We hope he
has inspired everyone to buckle up!

Jerry Nadeau Charity Poker Challenge and Cruise

Anyone involved
with the sport of auto racing needs a break once in a while. Drivers, crew
members and even fans have busy schedules through the season. So occasionally,
it’s a good thing to get together and kick back away from the track. If that
can happen for a good cause, it’s an even better thing.
Everyone who boarded the M/S Mount Washington for the Jerry
Nadeau Charity Poker Tournament and Cruise last week had the
chance to relax or plenty to keep them busy if that is what
they preferred. The evening offered a little bit of
everything from a buffet dinner to a moonlit cruise on the
lake to a magic show to a poker tournament to a chance to
meet former NASCAR Cup driver Jerry Nadeau and a number of
regional racing fans.
The cruise left port from Weirs Beach, New Hampshire and set
sail on Lake Winnipesaukee
with fans of all ages on board. Also along for
the ride were Nadeau, True Value Modified Racing Series
drivers Kirk Alexander and Andy Seuss, NASCAR Busch North
Series drivers Dave Dion and Mike Olsen and ISMA
Supermodified pilot Mike Ordway.
A good time was had by all, but the real meaning of the
evening was to raise money for the charities of Racing
Against Cancer and David’s House. It was a night of fun for
a good cause.
“The cruise was awesome,” said Bobbi Seuss, who helped to
organize the event. “It was the biggest money-making Casino
night that Racing Against Cancer has had. We made $4,600
when everything was said and done. Everyone had an
excellent time. It was really a lot of fun.”
There were eight tables in the Texas Hold ‘Em Poker
Tournament and eight different winners. Ed Batchelder, Bob
Stanhope, Joe Downing, Tim Hyldburg, David DeVries, Scott
Batchelder, Michael Madigan and Dana L. Goudreault all
bested their respective tables.

Andy
Seuss Finishes Second to A Worthy Opponent at Monadnock
18-Year-Old Battles With Kirk Alexander for Victory and
Doesn’t Give Up
HAMPSTEAD, NH (
July 6, 2005)
–
Since Kirk Alexander has won
six out of the eight True Value Modified Racing Series
events so far in 2005, you would think that finishing second
to him would be like a victory. Andy Seuss and his One Stop
Toy Shop/Rockingham Boat team finished second to Alexander
this past weekend at Monadnock Speedway and although they
are happy with their finish, they are far from throwing
their hands up and saying that is the best that they can do.
“I don’t think that Kirk
Alexander is unreachable,” said Seuss. “Right now he’s
untouchable, but we just need to get our act together. It’s
still just a Modified and they have their act together. I
think that we have a decent shot by the end of the season to
get up there and race with him. Obviously, he’s dominant
right now but we’re not going to say that second place is a
win at this point.”
18-year-old Seuss has
struck up a friendship with Alexander and enjoys going wheel
to wheel with the defending TVMRS champion.
“Kirk and I have some good
side-by-side battles,” said Seuss. “I joke around with him
that he doesn’t want to play with me very long because he
always comes out on top, but we had a good side-by-side
battle this time. I think that my crew guys wore out their
buttons by telling me to make him earn the win. He did. He
earned it on the outside and we ran good side-by-side for
six, seven or eight laps before he got by.”
The second place finish at
Monadnock also turns around a streak of bad luck for Seuss
and his team.
”The last few weeks have been hard DNFs from
rocker arms in the engine breaking to grade 8 bolts shearing
to contact. It’s been odd, but this race was pretty sweet.
We put the car up where it belonged with a top-three
finish.”
Next up for Seuss is Family
Fun Night at Lee USA Speedway (NH) on Friday. The event is
right in his family’s backyard and it’s one that the young
driver is looking forward to.
“Lee’s my home track and
it’s nice being home with all the fans and family up there.
We always run good there, but it seems that something
happens and we get bit by the end of the race. We’re going
to take this one easy and try to finish it and work our way
back up in the points. We fell from sixth to 16th
and now with this second place finish, we’ll start to work
our way back up again.”
“We’ve run in top five in
everything that I’ve run there. We won a segment in the
Milk Bowl-type race that they had for the Late Models.
We’ve done it all there except to get a feature win. We’re
looking forward to go back there and try to change that.”

Make A Wish Night A Great
Success
We would like to take this opportunity to thank all the
True Value Modified
Racing Series drivers, Lee USA Speedway drivers and their
team members
for their generosity this past Friday night! The Make Wish
Families had a fantastic time.
To recap, the night started out with John Spence Announcing
the excitement of having the Make A Wish families at the
track. John Spence was a great help promoting the event each
week at the tracks visited by the TVMRS. Journalist,
Mike Twist of Speed51.com made sure everyone that visited
their site was well aware of the upcoming night with Make A
Wish.
The activities for the children started with a bus ride in
the pits and around the track, supplied by The Provider Bus
Co. of Freemont NH. The children proudly waved their flags
out the windows as they rode around the track. When
the families stepped off the bus they were smiling from ear
to ear. When it came time to start the heat races the
children became honorary starters by waving the green flag.
The excitement these kids showed was overpowering and truly
worth all the work put into organizing the event.
The highlight of the night was when all the drivers took
time from their race cars and teams to visit with the kids.
Drivers signed autographs and helped collect donations
from fans in the stands as well. The children did not only
go home with memories of the night but each one received a
goodie bag to take home with them. As part of
the bags, True Value Hardware
Stores donated along with their time coozies, hats and
flashlights.
Coastal 181, reading for racers from Newburyport Mass, made
up incredible
bags filled with Dick Berggren's Speedway Illustrated,
T-shirts, and pit
passes which the children displayed proudly. Many race teams
donated t-shirts, glow bracelets, magnets, book markers and
stuffed animals to hug. It seemed as though there was a new
surprise every minute!!!! Dom, from Domino's Pizza was such
a great host donating t-shirts and serving the families
pizza all night long! I think everyone fell in love with the
new Cheese Burger Pizza!!!! Special thanks go to Jason
Boucher of J.Song Ballooning and Dennis Ferreira Jr. of the
Patriot Balloon Co. and also The One Stop Toy Shop for
sponsoring the Hot Air Balloons. The balloons did not get to
fly due to windy conditions on Friday night, but they did
say they would try to come back at another date.
Together working as a team, we collected over $2000.00 for
the Make a Wish Foundation. Everyone should be very proud of
themselves for the teamwork and effort all put into making
this a successful night.

Rookie of the Year was presented to Andy
Seuss in the number 10 Rockingham boat, One Stop Toy Shop
sponsored modified race car. 2004 was Seuss's rookie year in
a modified but definitely not the first year this seventeen
year old from Hampstead, NH has been behind the wheel of a
race car. Seuss was the 2003 Rookie of the Year in the 350
Super Modified Division at Star Speedway in Epping, NH. In
2002 he won over 18 feature events, three championships and
was voted driver of the year at Sugarhill Speedway in Weare
N.H. Andy anxiously awaits the start of the 2005 season
where he will again compete in the True Value Modified
Series. While 2004 was more of a laid back, learning type of
season, Andy feels the seat time has made him a better, more
confident driver who has earned respect from his fellow
veteran drivers. In the off season Andy and his team will be
busy preparing cars for the 2005 season. Plans are in the
works for another trip to speed weeks at New Smyrna Speedway
in February. For Andy spring can't get here fast enough.

Andy Seuss was inducted into the National
Technical Honor Society at Pinkerton Academy. Andy has
maintained his grades and is currently on the Honor Roll.
